First time in Israel & am excited to see more! ? BUSINESS ...

(Another?first day view, from Monday)

Today, we had the chance to walk around the city of Tel Aviv. We started out our walk with our tour guide, Joanne, who brought us through the streets explaining the history of Tel Aviv and the history of Israel. It was a beautiful day at about 24 degrees celicus (yes, I had to look up the conversion). Many of us decided to go with Steve to his favorite falafel place. We were given unbelievable amounts of food including pita bread, hummus, salads, French fries etc., which they kept refilling. We also had main courses, but by that time, we were all already full. I have a very limited palate, but agreed to try a couple of the unnamed items on the table, which were not as bad as I had anticipated.

We left stuffed and walked down the boardwalk of the beach to soak in the glorious weather. We stopped into Aroma coffee, which our friends had said was the one thing that we had to try in Israel. The ?Aroma ice coffee? is more of a milkshake with a coffee base, which was a great way for us to caffeinate to fight our jetlag as well as cool down at the beach. We ran back to the hotel, showered and got ready for our first briefing of the trip from Asaf Luxembour from the Ministry of Finance. His presentation gave us a brief overview of the Israeli economy and left a lot time for Q&A at the end.

Afterward, we headed off toward the port and ate at a restaurant on the boardwalk. This meal was also overwhelming due to the amount of food and variety of choices. If there is one thing I?m sure of, it is that we will be very well fed on this trip. This is my first time in Israel, I am excited to see more!
